About the event

Often overlooked as a business district and tourist mecca, midtown north, the area between Rockefeller Center and Central Park South, has a long history as a residential district going back to the late 1800's. Distinctive apartment and commercial buildings, museums, cultural institutions and houses of worship mix with hotels, fashionable shops and upscale and casual dining.  Adding to the mix is what the Municipal Arts Society calls the "Accidental Skyline" -- the supertall skyscrapers along 57th Street, which have created a fair amount of controversy.
