The Story of Owning New York

Our philosophy of real estate is simple yet profound: When you own property in New York, you also inherit a history, along with the richness of the architecture, the neighborhood’s lifestyle and all it has to offer.

From the historic charms of brownstone Brooklyn and the West Village to the commercial lofts of Tribeca and SOHO, the neighborhoods of New York City proudly boast a panoply of architectural ingenuity and human imagination.

With over 100 neighborhoods in our repertoire, we are convinced that through the process of
getting to know your lifestyle preferences and personal passions, we can create a memorable real
estate experience that will result in your not only getting keys to your new home, but also key
to your well-being.

“My goal is to ensure that you are making the best possible decision and have found the right neighborhood that fits your lifestyle!”

As a native New Yorker and former full-time tour guide, I have cultivated a tremendous amount of knowledge about NYC history and culture and our unique neighborhoods and communities. By sharing what I have learned, my goal is to ensure that you find the right fit for your lifestyle.

I founded Owning New York LLC (ONY) in 2015 as New York City’s first company to offer real estate and lifestyle tours. ONY is based at the prestigious Corcoran Group Real Estate in the heart of Manhattan.

I love real estate in large part due to the great diversity of people I get to work with, ranging from CEO’s and banking and finance executives, to United Nations staff, educators, attorneys, retirees and people in the arts, entertainment and non-profit industries.

My eclectic background includes work as a Homeless Shelter Director; advocate for abused and neglected children; professional tour guide and fine art photographer.

I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work and a B.A in English, and have served on the faculty of Columbia University, Fordham, the New School and the City University of New York.  I have been a cooperative apartment owner since 1988; served on the Board of Directors for 12 years and was President for three years.

I find that all my past occupations and roles contribute positively to my real estate transactions over the past 11 years and have made me uniquely prepared to adapt to a variety of buyer and seller requirements and styles and to changing transaction scenarios.

Have completed over 200 successful home sales and over 2,000 walking and vehicle tours.

My success stories and tours have been featured in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal called me a “genius” for integrating real estate with touring of neighborhoods.

My Meetup Group, “Exploring NYC History and Neighborhoods” has over 4,000 members and gets 5-star reviews.

Each Spring, I organize a series of guided walks to raise awareness and money for the Broadway Mall Association, a nonprofit that helps the City keep Broadway’s linear park beautiful from 72nd-168th Streets. I also lead tours for the Municipal Art Society and Open House New York.

I engage in other philanthropic and charitable work to benefit non-profit organizations both locally and internationally.
